What’s your name?

Molly Foehl

What is something you would like Soupsters to know about you?

I don’t always get the chance to attend the annual Soup event, because of work obligations, but I still feel like an integral part of the community and am grateful for the connections I’ve made through Soup.

What’s your favorite thing about The Soup?

My favorite thing about Soup is the ease of feeling like everyone is in it together - we share similar values and ideas about what constitutes “fun.”

What is one thing you hope might happen at The Soup?

I am always wishing for more hot water at The Soup. That is one piece that is missing for me at the current location, so I’m hoping for portable hot tubs or something else like that.

What is something almost nobody knows about you?

This is a hard question, as I’m a pretty open book - I would say that not many people know that I tried to kill myself when I was a teenager and continue to have suicidal ideation. I’ve worked on it a lot through therapy and don’t have any plans to follow through...it’s simply my (extreme) coping mechanism when life feels overwhelming.

If a giant pile of Soupsters showed up on your doorstep wanting to make the world a better place, where would you have them start?

To make the world a better place, I would utilize the Soupsters to start picking up as much litter/garbage as possible, especially around coastlines. It’s a small act that can have a tremendous impact on our natural world.

What is a memory of Soup that makes you smile?

A Soup memory that makes me smile is singing classic tunes like “American Pie” and “Hotel California” with Eli, Tracy, Tina and Cate as we sat in their campsite at Saratoga Springs, before getting ready for dinner.
